Gudibande Fort and Lake are some of the best weekend destinations within 100 kilometres from Bangalore. There is Gudibande city in Chikballapur District of Karnataka which is about 90 km from Bangalore and 30 km from the Andhra Pradesh border. There is a Fort at the top of the hill.
From Bangalore, you need to travel towards International Airport. After crossing the airport you need to drive another one hour. The beauty of the journey is enjoyable. After about an hour drive you need to take left and travel around another 15-20 kilometres.
First comes Gudibande lake. This is a huge Lake surrounded by Hills. the beauty of this place is just awesome. after this lake the Gudubande City is and after the city, you can reach the start of the trip. Car can't go beyond that point. The trek starts from there.
The fort was constructed around 400 years ago. There are stairs to reach at top of the hill. This route is surrounded by Jungle which makes this journey more adventurous. To reach the Fort you need to cross the 7 gates of the Fort. These all gates are at 7 different levels. All of these gates are made with big stones. Beside these gates, there is a scape gate, so in case of emergency, soldiers escape.
The main attraction of the sport is they are harvesting system. There is a total of 19 ponds in the fort at a different level. These all these are naturally built ponds which can harvest about 3 lakh litres of water. In earlier days soldiers used to drink this water.
From the top of the hill, you can get a complete view of the area. But remember on top of the hill there is an only fort and a Temple. So so when you will start your journey bring your own water and necessary food. To reach the top of this hill you need to climb about 1000 stairs this is quite hard. So so if you have any health issues I would advise you not to visit that place. I visited that place with my family including seven years old daughter and they enjoyed it a lot. You can get food at Gudibande fort or near the Bangalore to Hyderabad highway.
Spending sunset beside Gudibande lake is really enjoyable. it's an excellent place where uh you can spend your whole evening. After sunset, you can try back to Bangalore and can reach within 2 to 3 hours. Also so there are hotels where you can spend the night and the next day you can return. Overall this Gudibande fort and lake visit during the weekend is really enjoyable. Thank you for reading my blog.
Interesting.
